After financial difficulties and a botched sale of the park, Santa's Village closed in 2006 after being open for 47 years in East Dundee, Illinois. The ghosts of the joyful children screaming as they whirled around on the Snowball still haunt the park around every deteriorated bend. An auction in October 2006 emptied the park of the attractions and sent them to all corner of the country and the world.
